What Is Restylane®?
Restylane® is an aesthetic treatment that uses hyaluronic acid to give your skin a youthful rejuvenation. Hyaluronic acid is an important part of healthy skin that helps maintain hydration, elasticity, and a smooth surface.
Restylane® fillers are made with hyaluronic acid molecules that are cross-linked to create a smooth gel that provides noticeable volume where injected. This is especially important in areas that have lost collagen and have become creased or hollow as a result.
Since both collagen and hyaluronic acid production levels decrease over time, advanced filler treatments can serve as a replacement, providing results that can last from months to years. New injections can be made to preserve your desired contours over time.
Areas Restylane® Can Treat
The Restylane® family is made up of several different fillers, each of which can be used to target specific signs of aging: Restylane Refyne™, Restylane Defyne™, Restylane Lyft™, Restylane Contour, and Restylane Silk.
Our experienced injectors use these to improve the natural look of:
- Nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the mouth)
- Marionette lines (lines around the mouth)
- Tear troughs (under-eye hollows)
- Lips (for enhancement and volume)
- Cheeks and mid-face (for contouring and volume)
- Chin and jawline (for definition)
Who Is A Good Candidate For Restylane®?
Any adult who wants to restore lost volume in the face or hands may be a good candidate for Restylane® injections! Ideal candidates are generally healthy, have realistic expectations, and are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding. People with certain skin conditions, allergies to hyaluronic acid-based skincare products, or a history of severe allergic reactions (including anaphylaxis) may not be suitable for Restylane.
To determine whether a Restylane treatment is truly ideal for you, we will conduct a thorough consultation that reviews your medical history, your cosmetic goals, and more. We will explain the treatment options for addressing your specific concerns and make sure you are not just comfortable but confident with your choice!
What Is The Restylane® Experience At VITRA Aesthetics Clinic?
The bulk of our patients handle the injection process just fine, with nothing more than ice used to reduce sensation in the skin, but we do offer topical anesthetics to numb the injection site for people who are looking to feel absolutely nothing during the treatment.
You can expect your Restylane treatment to last about the same amount of time as a lunch break, which is hardly any time at all! Specifics will depend on what and how many areas are being treated.

What Happens After A Restylane® Session?
Our patients will notice a visible change as soon as the Restylane® is injected. We recommend not touching or putting any pressure on the injected areas for a couple of days after your visit—but you don’t have to remember that right now! We will go over everything you need to know and what to expect in the days after your treatment at your initial consultation.
Does VITRA Aesthetics Clinic Offer More Injectable Treatments?
Like Restylane®, Juvéderm® is also a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler that fills hollows and reduces the severity of certain fine lines. Our team will work with you to help you decide which option would work best. Another available filler is Sculptra®, which not only provides replenishing volume but also encourages collagen production in the skin—making it ideal for a non-surgical butt lift.
Neuromodulators are injections, but unlike dermal fillers, they smooth out “dynamic wrinkles” that result from constant muscle activity on the face. BOTOX®, Dysport®, and Xeomin® all work the same way: preventing lines from appearing when specific expressions are made.
Restylane® Frequently Asked Questions
How long do Restylane results last?
Restylane treatment results typically last between 6 to 18 months, depending on which product was used, the area treated, and factors like skin type and metabolism. Touch-up treatments can help maintain the desired results over time.
Is Restylane safe, and are there any side effects?
Restylane is FDA-approved and considered safe when injected by an experienced and licensed medical provider. Like any injectable treatment, side effects may include temporary redness, swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site. These effects usually resolve within a few days.
In rare cases, serious side effects can include infection or lumps under the skin. It’s important to follow post-treatment care instructions to minimize any chance of risks.
How long does a Restylane treatment session take?
A typical Restylane treatment session lasts between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the area being treated and the amount of filler needed. Since there is minimal downtime, most people can resume normal activities immediately after their appointment!
What is the recovery time after Restylane injections?
Recovery from Restylane injections is generally quick, and you can return to your regular routine right away. However, we recommend avoiding strenuous activity, excessive sun exposure, or alcohol for the first 24 hours after treatment.
